The Tampa Bay Sentinels were the 3rd public safety football team to join the National Public Safety Football League from Tampa. The first Tampa Bay team to join the National Public Safety Football League was the Tampa Bay Guardians.

They represented Tampa Bay area from 1993-1999. In 2000 the football team split. Half of the team went to the Orlando area, where they formed the Orlando Guardians.

The other half stayed in the Tampa Bay area. They formed the Pinellas Posse, which was later renamed to the Tampa Bay Posse.

The Tampa Bay Posse represented our area in the National Public Safety Football League from 2000 through 2003. In 2004, the Tampa Bay Posse became a Florida Six-Man Football team.
